The Yacht Rock Revue is the greatest show on surf and the finest tribute to ‘70s light rock to ever perform anywhere. Ever. Their spot-on renditions of Hall & Oates, Michael McDonald, Steely Dan, and the rest of the Time-Life Infomercial Catalog have enthralled fans across the United States. The May 4th Yacht Rock Revival show adds very special guest front-men, Peter Beckett of Player (‘Baby Come Back’), Robbie Dupree (‘Steal Away’), Walter Egan (‘Magnet and Steel’), and John Ford Coley (‘I’d Really Love to See You Tonight’), quickly turning the soft rock era tribute show into an all-star packed reunion.

By blurring the lines between a tribute, an original act, and a comedic troupe, the Yacht Rock Revue™ has forged a unique niche market and a special bond with their fans. The band has packed out shows at historic venues including the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, the Knitting Factory in New York City, Athens’ famed Georgia Theatre, Washington DC’s State Theatre, and Nashville’s Cannery Ballroom.

Yacht Rock Revival’s presenting sponsor, Griffin Technology, enjoys the smooth sounds of adult-contemporary music just as much as the next hipster or middle-aged dad. The Nashville-based tech company dominates the smartphone, tablet, and digital accessories market much like Yacht Rock Revue brings the smooth as the greatest yacht rock band in the universe.

The first 250 tickets sold will be $15; the remaining will be $20 in advance and $25 the day of the show. $75 VIP tickets will include access to a private bar and patio viewing area, show poster, a Griffin gift bag and free admission to the VIP after party.

You’re Welcome! The Yacht Rock Revue is the Greatest Show on Surf and the finest tribute to ‘70s light rock to ever perform anywhere. Ever. Their spot?on renditions of Hall & Oates, Michael McDonald, Steely Dan, and the rest of the Time?Life Infomercial Catalog have enthralled fans across the United States. It goes without saying they have taken their act to the high seas, performing showcase sets on music cruises with Weezer, Kid Rock, Train, Zac Brown Band, Sister Hazel, and fitness guru Jillian Michaels.

By blurring the lines between a tribute, an original act, and a comedic troupe, the Yacht Rock Revue has forged a unique niche market and a special bond with their fans. The band attacks each song as if it were their own, and the energy exchanged between the band and the crowd has more in common with a stadium U2 show than that of a typical bar band.

The band has won accolades ranging from “Best Place to Get Drunk With Your Dad” to “Best Overall Music Act in Atlanta” to “Best Place to Start an Extramarital Affair,” and has been name?dropped by the New York Times, Pitchfork, the Guardian UK, Spin, TimeOut New York, Billboard, MTV.com, and (probably) your mom at her last cocktail party.

Speaking of name?dropping, members of the band have played on?stage with members of Weezer, Billy Joel, Walter Egan, .38 Special, John Mayer, Zac Brown Band, Little River Band, Sheryl Crow, Noel Gallagher, Starbuck, Sarah McLachlan, Don Henley, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Neil Finn, Jellyfish, Devo, Nine Inch Nails, Joan Jett, Wet Willie, Bon Jovi, Skid Row, and the Saturday Night Live Band. (None of those were a joke.)

The Yacht Rock Revue has packed out shows at historic venues including the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, the Knitting Factory in New York City, Athens’ famed Georgia Theatre, Washington DC’s State Theatre, and Nashville’s Mercy Lounge. They played at the finish line of the Peachtree Road Race for 50,000+ two years running; played on Turner Field for 30,000 fans on July 4; and sang the National Anthem at Braves Manager Bobby Cox’s last game.

The Greatest Yacht Rock Revival in the Universe on August 13, 2011 was the Yacht Rock Revue’s smoothest success to date. Almost 2,000 fans flocked to Buckhead to see the Yacht Rock Revue headline a show that featured legit ‘70s icons Little River Band, Ambrosia, Peter Beckett from Player, Walter Egan, and Starbuck.

2012 promises the return of the Greatest Yacht Rock Revival in the Universe, a new album of original material, an album of live material recorded at the historic Georgia Theatre in Athens, and more sailings on the high seas and across the United States.

Space Capone

→ Official Website

Space Capone's influences thrive off early 80’s funk/soul/R&B with a fresh 2012 twist. Still riding high off their sophomore debut "Volume II: Arrival, Arousal " (released Spring of '10) they've already set an extremely strong precedence in the southeast as a band that respects their influences but knows how to party at the same time. Signed to AVJ records in late 2011 and collaborating new material with the likes of Jerry Hey (Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson, Earth Wind & Fire) and Jay Graydon (Airplay, Steel Dan), the live show is a tightly arranged powerhouse of feel good music.

Aaron Winters (professionally known as ‘Space’) co-produced the new material with Calvin Turner (Marc Broussard, Raphael Saadiq) and is swimming against the current of modern day ‘pop.’ “If you’re in to house music, or watered down pop music for teens, just keep listening to what’s on the radio” he states, “but if you want to hear music that’s influenced by people that changed pop music forever, get hip to Space.” It’s real, it’s incredible live, and it feels good. What more could you want. Space Capone has performed at Bonnaroo, CMJ, SXSW, countless festivals in the southeast.

Bobby Kimball

→ Official Website

Bobby started playing piano at the young age of 4 years old. His Mother had the rare gift of "Perfect Pitch", and could play just about anything she heard. This was an inspiration to Bobby and his oldest brother, and soon both of them started their own bands when Bobby was only 8 year old. The members of Bobby’s band were the younger brothers of his oldest brother’s band.Growing up in Louisiana was truly a gift for Bobby, due to such a wide variety of music styles and fantastic musicians to play with. Living about 10 miles from the Texas border played a big role in his music career, because there were so many 5000 seat clubs stationed along the Texas border inside Louisiana. The drinking age in Texas was 21 years old, and in Louisiana it was 18 years old. This leaves little doubt as to why these 5000 seat clubs were completely packed on the weekends, and it was a huge influence on Bobby’s decision to become a musician instead of a Medical Doctor. After 5 years of University studies in the medical field, Bobby decided to follow the path that made him the happiest, and he became a full-time musician. After playing and singing with about 15 different bands in Louisiana and Texas, Bobby ended up in a band called "The Levee Band", which became a high watermark of musicianship and talent. In the middle of a tour with The Levee band, Bobby received a call from a long time musician friend, Jon Smith, who asked him to come to LA and sing with the musicians who had made up the band "Three Dog Night", one of Bobby’s favorite bands ever. He had to make a very hard decision to leave, not only one of the best bands he had ever played with, but also his native Louisiana home. After arriving in LA to meet the band, things changed drastically for Bobby. He was finally in the city where the music industry thrived, and most of the great musicians and singers who had created the hit songs that drew him into the fold to become a musician were living and working. After this band got together, they signed a contract with CBS Records under the name "S.S. Fools", which was the title of the first and only LP recorded by them. This band lasted for about 18 months before Bobby decided to leave them for better opportunities. During the rehearsal stages of "S.S. Fools", Bobby first met, and became friends with Jeffery Porcaro (then, the drummer with "Steely Dan"), and David Paich (who had just co-written the Grammy winning "Silk Degrees" LP with Boz Scaggs). Jeff and David were at most of our rehearsals, because they loved the music of "Three Dog Night" as well. A few months after leaving S.S. Fools, Bobby was asked byJeff and David (the initial founders of Toto), to become the lead singer. There were no questions, nor hesitation about his decision to join this band. They were the best musicians Bobby had ever heard, and a perfect platform for his voice. The very first LP Toto released, entitled "Toto", broke out with the massive hit single, "Hold The Line". The band was nominated for a Grammy as "Best New Band" that year, but lost to "A Taste of Honey".Toto’s music was very well received and the band built a huge following of very loyal fans. Bobby was in the band for the recording of the first 4 records ("Toto", "Hydra", "Turn Back", and "TotoIV"). It was the "Toto IV CD" that absolutely defined the band, and it’s future. At the 1982 Grammy Awards, The "Toto IV" CD was nominated for a "record breaking" NINE Grammy Awards. Out of these nine nominations, the band won SIX Grammy Awards, based on the strength and popularity of the song, "Rosanna". Also, Steve Lukather, co-writer of "Turn Your Love Around", with Jay Gradon and Bill Champlin, won a 7th Grammy. Altogether, the band brought home 7 Grammy Awards that evening, ...which set a precedent for the number of Grammy Awards ever won by a single band in one year.It was in the middle of the recording of the 5th CD that some differences broke out amongst the members of the band, and Bobby was asked to leave Toto. The band went through several singers, Fergie Frederikson & Joseph Williams, to name a couple of really great vocalists.Bobby moved to Germany for 6 years, and recorded his first CD there with Frank Farian called “The Far Corporation”. This is where he met Simon Philips, who played drums on the CD. The CD did very well in the charts in Europe, and a 2nd CD was in the works by then.Bobby ended up recording 3 more CDs in Germany: 1. “Rise Up”2. “Tribute to Ray Charles”3. “The Toto Classic Hits”After several vocalist changes with Toto, in 1998, Bobby was asked to rejoin the band, which put the band back to it's most original form, and he remained the lead vocalist for the next 10 years until the band dissolved in 2008.Not long after his departure from Germany, Bobby met, and began co-writing his next CD work with his friend John Zaika. The CD was entitled “All I Ever Needed”. Now, John and Bobby are starting on their 2nd project, but this time, they have started their own Record label called: “Future Memories Music”Bobby and John’s next CD work will be the first thing to be released on that new label, and then, other artists will beconsidered to join the label. John and Bobby are writing the new CD now (May 2011). Bobby spent about 2 weeks, beginning may 8th, 2011, touring in Kuwait & Iraq for the US Troops. “It was one of the most interesting tours I’ve ever done. I learned so much about what was going on in the Middle East, that most people have no clue about.”Since the dissolution of Toto in 2008, Bobby has been touring the world over, non-stop. At this time, he has 6 major tours lined up, and more on the way. “I’ve never been this busy in my whole career in music. I love touring, and I always have fun on the road with the fans.”“I’ve been working on a Solo CD for several years now, and now I’m finally getting some time to finish it. I’m using some of the best musicians around the LA area, and this is a CD which will surely not disappoint the fans.”“I’ve just completed a Duets CD with Jimi Jamison from “Survivor”, which will be out at the end of the Summer of 2011. It’s a great Rock CD, and so fun to make it.”“At the moment, I’m working on a new CD with Robert Säll from the band ‘Work of Art’ from Scandinavia. We’ve just begun this project, and it should be done within a few months. I love the songs Robert writes, and I’m sure this CD will be very interesting for many people.”“I have so many projects going at the same time, it’s keeping me busier than ever. I love my work, and I’m having more fun now than I’ve ever experienced in music.”

Toto

→ Official Website

Toto is a Grammy Award winning american rock band that was formed in Los Angeles, Californiain 1977 by David PaichSteve LukatherBobby Kimball, brothers Jeff Porcaro and Steve Porcaro, and David Hungate. The band members had met in high school and at studio sessions in the 1970s, when they became some of the busiest session musicians in the music business.

Composed entirely of seasoned studio musicians, Toto seemed to come out of nowhere. They did not get known first on the club circuit as nearly all bands do prior to being signed by a label. Their reputations in the studio were enough. For example, Paich, Hungate and Jeff Porcaro wrote songs for and performed on Boz Scaggs’ album Silk Degrees.

Toto released their debut album Toto in October 1978, selling two million copies based on their top ten hit Hold the Line. The next two albums Hydra and Turn Back had little success, butToto IV (released in 1982) featured the number one hit Africa as well as the top ten single Rosanna. Toto IV went multi-platinum and earned several Grammy Awards including 1983 Album of the Year and Record of the Year (for “Rosanna”).

John Ford Coley

There are songs you hear in your life that transport you to a certain time period or give you a special feeling. You associate those good times to the group that made them famous. Songs like “I’d Really Love To See You Tonight,” “Nights Are Forever Without You” and “Love Is The Answer” have that kind of effect on people. Those songs and numerous others have made John Ford Coley a singing legend. He has spent decades touring, writing, recording, and producing. John is most revered as half of the Grammy nominated duo England Dan and John Ford Coley. He continues with an active roster performing the platinum and gold record hits for audiences around the world. Classically trained on piano and an avid guitarist, John loves the craft and enjoys every audience he encounters. With double platinum and gold records behind him, John has also produced other artists. Most recently, he co-produced several sides on Eddie Money. Country musician, Vince Gill added vocals along with John to give the sessions a country feel. Additionally, John has produced CD’s on Country Artist Tom Wurth and another talent, Lynn Bryant. Of late, John recorded a live album while he was on tour in the Philippines with many of the hits. It is available on the internet, and at concerts. John is currently going into the studio to record new material for an acoustic album. Some of John Ford Coley’s hits are as follows: “Love Is The Answer”, “Gone Too Far”, “I’d Really Love To See You Tonight”, “We’ll Never Have To Say Goodbye Again”, “Nights Are Forever Without You”, “Soldier In The Rain”, “Come Back To Me”, “Sad To Belong", “Simone”, “Westward Wind”, “Part of Me, Part of You.” Some of John’s songs have appeared in feature films such as “Nights are Forever Without You” in "Dickie Roberts Former Child Star". Another hit “I’d Really Love To See You Tonight” appeared in the film "Long Kiss Goodnight" with Geena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson. Over the years John has shared the stage with many of the music industry’s famous hit makers. Some of those include: Elton John, Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Chicago, Carole King, Bread, Loggins and Messina, Led Zepplin, Carly Simon, Bill Cosby, Steve Miller Band, Randy Bachman, Jesse Colin Young, Air Supply, Ambrosia, Poco, Terry Sylvester (formerly of the Hollies), Orleans, Lou Gramm and Gordon Lightfoot, to name a few. John’s television exposure crosses all demographic boundaries. He's hosted “The Midnight Special” and co-hosted “The Mike Douglas Show”. “American Bandstand”, “Hollywood Squares” (A Special Rock Edition), “Make Me Laugh”, “Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert”, “Prime Time Country”, and the “Trinity Broadcasting Network.” Some of John’s Television and Movie Theme Songs written or performed include: “Just Tell Me You Love Me”, “Dr. Pepper", “Major League, Back To The Minors”, “James At 16”, “Joe Panther”, “The Spy Within” “Cold Case” and “Maxwell House Coffee” with Paul Newman in Japan. In the mid-1980’s, John entered acting. In “Dream A Little Dream”, Coley performed as the boyfriend of actress Susan Blakely. In this role he enjoyed playing an antagonist and pushing teen Corie Feldman down some stairs and spiking Feldman's girlfriend's wine to keep her from sneaking out. Previously, in his first acting role in “Scenes From The Gold Mine”, Coley played a drummer alongside Eagles Timothy B. Schmidt. The film also featured Joe Pantoliano (The Sopranos). In another film “Aces and Eights”, John played in a deadly 1870’s poker game against Steve Railsback and Doug McClure. Most rewarding though was an episode of “America’s Most Wanted”. Here, John played a drug dealer who was killed by his partner. In this re-enactment, the capture of John’s character’s real-life killer was among the fastest captured in the show's history. He's appeared on “The Tonight Show”, “Merv Griffin”, “David Soul and Friends”, “Dinah”, John’s experiences stem from a broad background, since he is very eclectic in his interests. Although John performed throughout high school and college as a classical and rock pianist, he chose to major in English Literature in his university studies and is an avid student of history. In between the extensive road duty, John lives in the Nashville area with his family, where he's penned a book on his years in the music industry entitled “Backstage Pass”, and is writing another book about his spiritual journey back from another religion to Christianity. He also speaks in churches about his experiences.
